As proud members of the Bradford business community, we’re thrilled to host two exciting sessions during Bradford Manufacturing Weeks 2025, kicking off this October. Running from Monday 6th to Friday 17th October, the two week-long initiative—organised by the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce—aims to showcase the vibrant world of manufacturing and inspire the next generation of innovators right here in our city.
On Wednesday 8th October and Thursday 16th October, we’ll welcome groups of local school students to our premises in Bradford for immersive behind-the-scenes tours. These aren’t your typical factory visits—our goal is to bust the myth that engineering is just about getting your hands dirty on the shop floor. Instead, we’ll guide the young visitors through the full spectrum of what makes NPS tick:
- Hands-on Engineering: A peek into our state-of-the-art workshops where precision machining and assembly bring designs to life.
- 3D Design and Innovation: Exploring our CAD suites, where our designers use cutting-edge software to create the future—one model at a time.
- Finance and Operations: Demystifying the business side, from budgeting projects to supply chain magic that keeps everything running smoothly.
- Office and Support Functions: Highlighting the collaborative roles in HR, marketing, and project management that glue it all together.
These interactive sessions are designed for Key Stage 3 and 4 students, blending fun demos, Q&A with our team, and even a chance to try simple design tools. It’s all about sparking curiosity, demonstrating diverse career paths in manufacturing, and showing how skills from STEM to soft skills can lead to rewarding opportunities.
Andrew Smith, our Managing Director, shares: “At NPS, we believe manufacturing is about people as much as processes. Events like this let us connect with Bradford’s brightest young minds, proving that whether you’re crunching numbers, sketching ideas, or building prototypes, there’s a place for everyone in our industry.”
We’re already buzzing with anticipation—spots are filling up fast via the Chamber’s registration portal. If your school hasn’t signed up yet, head over to the Bradford Manufacturing Week page to secure a place.
Stay tuned for highlights after the week, and let’s keep building a brighter manufacturing future together. #BradfordMakers #FutureEngineers
